Physical Therapist, Eugene, OR

December 20, 2024

I started working with Dr. Mike Robinson at Zenith in May when I was having issues with numbness in my hand due to compressed nerves starting in my neck and shoulder. I was training for an Ironman and a marathon at the time. Over the next ten sessions, he was not only able to provide relief from the pain, but helped me work through other issues that came up during training. Dr. Robinson was always kind, helpful, and friendly during our sessions, and I felt each appointment was tailored to my specific needs. Thanks to his expertise, I was able to return to training pain free and successfully finished my first Ironman and got a PR at my fourth marathon!

What Clients Are Saying About Our Performance PT

From weekend warriors to elite athletes, our clients trust Zenith for expert care and real results. Here is what they had to say about their experience with our Performance PT—tailored support that helped them move, train, and feel their best.

This place has changed my quality of life

This place has changed my quality of life a million times over! I met Mariel when I had severe shoulder pain and could barely open a door—this had lasted a few years. Part of the reason I initially went with Mariel is because we talked about my long-term fitness goals, and Mariel said all this was possible through Zenith. My crippling shoulder pain is now well in the rearview mirror, and we’ve been well on my way to being the strongest I’ve ever been. If you're looking for people that can help from recovery and then onto your fitness goals, Zenith is definitely the place you'll want to be. This is very high quality care that I would highly recommend.

I have the tools to continue with my fitness goals

As a lifelong athlete, I have had my fair share of overuse injuries. I hate to admit that I am getting older and now prone to acute injuries—like pulling my hamstring while running around the coed softball field. Working with Jesse over the last 8 months has been enlightening in ways that prior PT sessions have left lacking. In developing a comprehensive game plan—including stretching, lifting, running, and plyometrics—I have been able to recover and have the tools to continue with my fitness goals. In the event I need PT again, I know who to call.

Back to throwing and training full time

I first came in due to tearing the labrum in both shoulders in my senior year of football. I was unsure if I was going to be able to compete in my final year of basketball and track. Lucky enough for me, my friend recommended that I go see Jesse for help. That was the best decision I could have made. Before I was even able to get in for an MRI, Jesse was able to diagnose the tear — and better yet — start getting to work on treatment. I went from hardly being able to hold my arms above my head with lots of pain and instability, to a month later being able to play basketball every day almost pain free. I continued treatment all through basketball and into track, where I was still unsure whether I was going to be able to compete in my throwing events. Luckily for me, Jesse was able to create a treatment program that allowed me to come back better than ever! With his amazing help, I was able to work back into all of my throwing events — while also making it to state in all 3! Following that season last May, I decided to still undergo surgery. Of course, following surgery, I chose to go back to see Jesse for rehab. With his expertise I was able to make a speedy (and safe) recovery. I went from not being able to (or allowed to) move my arm, to two months later having nearly all of my range of motion back. Three months post-op, I was already able to get back to some light weightlifting. Thanks to all of Jesse's help, after six months I was able to be back to throwing and training full time as a collegiate athlete. Not to brag up Jesse too much, but he also helped me become a better athlete and put together a training program specifically for me outside of physical therapy. On a final note, though I spent the majority of my time with Jesse, every PT at Zenith is very knowledgeable and professional, and it’s very obvious that they all take pride in and care about their work. If you would’ve told me last year that I was going to miss going to physical therapy, I would’ve called you crazy. After spending the last year and a half in PT and just finishing a month ago, I can honestly say I do. I highly recommend Zenith to anyone suffering from any kind of issue. You won’t regret it!
