Zenith Performance and Wellness was created and is operated by Jesse Klein, DPT, OCS, CSCS. He has experienced athletics, training, and rehabilitation from both sides of the injury and has vast experience working with people of all ages and athletic levels.

Jesse earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh; where he was a a 4-year letter earner, 2-year captain of the soccer team, a tutor, and was involved in multiple extracurricular committees and councils. He then earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from St. Catherine University; where he graduated with a 4.0 GPA. During his second year, he was one of four program Teaching Assistants and was selected by faculty to serve as the sole Program Tutor.

As a physical therapist, Jesse enjoys getting to know his clients beyond their primary complaint, and utilizing a combination of education, manual therapy, and exercises to help them recover. He enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities, but does especially enjoy working with those establishing or returning to a work out program, and those pursuing endurance sports. Jesse has extra training in the realms of wellness and can help with strategies to create a more well balanced life. In 2022, he became a Certified Barbell Rehab Method Therapist- focusing on helping those with pain continue to exercise and train through their issues.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two cats (the cutest cats in the world, objectively), running, reading, and generally hanging out.

I had two running goals for 2023: complete a marathon in less than 4.5 hours and run more than 1300 miles in total. I failed both (the first one I actually failed twice :)). Disappointing on some level for sure. But when I step back and take a look at the impact of those two unmet goals I find something that makes me very happy: the journey led me to set personal records at 6 distances, including my first ever trail run event, and for total mileage in 2023. Also, the two destination marathons were amazing experiences beyond the race day fun!

I couldn't have done it without the running focused PT expertise of Jesse and Jenn at Zenith! I’ve never worked with PTs that understand runners so well.

What Clients Are Saying About Our Rehab PT

From weekend warriors to elite athletes, our clients trust Zenith for expert care and real results. Here is what they had to say about their experience with our Rehab PT—tailored support that helped them move, train, and feel their best.

PT helped me avoid surgery and rebuild safely

Mike was fantastic. I came in with a meniscal tear with no great surgical solutions. I hadn't run for several months and was worried that my running days might be behind me. But after 6 months or so, I've built back to being almost where I was before. There was no rush and no pressure on my rehab. Just a steady progression that pushed me forward.

10/10 recommend—these guys are the BEST

At the beginning of the year I woke up with a pain in my ankle that felt like I had sprained it/rolled it or something similar. Nothing had happened that would have alerted me to that particular injury. Went to my PCP, got an x-ray (nothing wrong) got referred to a podiatrist (they found nothing). Thankfully the podiatrist referred me to Zenith, where I met Dr. Mariel. Over the course of 6 sessions she worked like a detective trying to solve my issue. Seriously, she is like Sherlock Holmes. Did not leave a stone unturned. My issue ended up being a nerve that was very angry and causing pain to present in my ankle. It was the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me. Without Mariel, I would still be limping around with a phantom injury. I highly recommend working with her. She is so kind, knowledgeable, patient and will not stop until you are feeling your best. Zenith as a whole is a fantastic place to heal and to meet your fitness goals. My goal was simply to walk normally and to get back to playing with my kiddos and I am not only able to do that but have come out the other side feeling better than ever. Yes, they are a cash pay facility but Jesse made it so easy to submit to my insurance with superbills and was always available if I needed anything. These guys are seriously the BEST at communicating with their patients / clients. I have never felt so taken care of it was as if I was the only client they had. 10/10 recommend. Ask for Mariel, she kicks ass.

Highly recommend—really enjoyable experience

Dr. Mariel Hammond is awesome. I came in with bad intermittent hip pain going on for the better part of the last decade. I’ve seen a number of insurance-based PTs over the years and not only does that service model fail but I’ve never gotten anything other than generic exercises that aren’t really tailored to an identified problem. Mariel takes a really systematic approach to tackle the complex issues that result in my pain and in ways not explored by others. She also doesn’t BS or put on a show. She’s clearly confident in her knowledge and expertise. For the first time in a while I feel better, have been making gains, and have been able to increase my activities without the normal routine-busting pain that inevitably presents itself. Really enjoyable experience over there. Highly recommend.
