I had two running goals for 2023: complete a marathon in less than 4.5 hours and run more than 1300 miles in total. I failed both (the first one I actually failed twice :)). Disappointing on some level for sure. But when I step back and take a look at the impact of those two unmet goals I find something that makes me very happy: the journey led me to set personal records at 6 distances, including my first ever trail run event, and for total mileage in 2023. Also, the two destination marathons were amazing experiences beyond the race day fun!

I couldn't have done it without the running focused PT expertise of Jesse and Jenn at Zenith! I’ve never worked with PTs that understand runners so well.

What Clients Are Saying About Our Rehab PT

From weekend warriors to elite athletes, our clients trust Zenith for expert care and real results. Here is what they had to say about their experience with our Rehab PT—tailored support that helped them move, train, and feel their best.

It feels so good to be running pain free

I came across Zenith through a local running class. I had been trying to deal with knee pain through my own strength training and stretching. After no progress on my own, I saw Jesse, who quickly figured out the source was my previous spinal nerve damage flaring up. My pain was gone within a week following a light stretching and strength regime. I’ve seen several physical therapists for my back, and while they were all generally great, Jesse seemed the most knowledgeable and understanding. He didn’t force me to do bridges when I said they felt awful to me and instead came up with a different exercise that still helped me build strength in my at-home plan. It feels so good to be running/moving pain free.

Back running after just two weeks

I was having ankle issues and basically could hardly run at all without discomfort. I've never had major issues in 3 decades of running and this was severely impacting my life. Scheduling PT through my doctor was going nowhere, so after a year of inaction—and honestly, despair—I decided to find PT myself. I'm very glad a friend recommended Zenith! It was super easy to set up my first visit and Mike Robinson has been terrific at figuring out what was going on with my body. I've seen significant changes in just a few weeks. Mike is clearly invested in not just solving my ankle issue, but also setting me up to avoid or reduce issues in the future. I was already back running after just two weeks—really wish I'd done this a year ago. Also, I signed up for the 10 visit option, which turned out to be a good move. Going in regularly has kept me on top of the exercises, and Mike has adapted things as I've improved. Could not have asked for better care or results!

Back to throwing and training full time

I first came in due to tearing the labrum in both shoulders in my senior year of football. I was unsure if I was going to be able to compete in my final year of basketball and track. Lucky enough for me, my friend recommended that I go see Jesse for help. That was the best decision I could have made. Before I was even able to get in for an MRI, Jesse was able to diagnose the tear — and better yet — start getting to work on treatment. I went from hardly being able to hold my arms above my head with lots of pain and instability, to a month later being able to play basketball every day almost pain free. I continued treatment all through basketball and into track, where I was still unsure whether I was going to be able to compete in my throwing events. Luckily for me, Jesse was able to create a treatment program that allowed me to come back better than ever! With his amazing help, I was able to work back into all of my throwing events — while also making it to state in all 3! Following that season last May, I decided to still undergo surgery. Of course, following surgery, I chose to go back to see Jesse for rehab. With his expertise I was able to make a speedy (and safe) recovery. I went from not being able to (or allowed to) move my arm, to two months later having nearly all of my range of motion back. Three months post-op, I was already able to get back to some light weightlifting. Thanks to all of Jesse's help, after six months I was able to be back to throwing and training full time as a collegiate athlete. Not to brag up Jesse too much, but he also helped me become a better athlete and put together a training program specifically for me outside of physical therapy. On a final note, though I spent the majority of my time with Jesse, every PT at Zenith is very knowledgeable and professional, and it’s very obvious that they all take pride in and care about their work. If you would’ve told me last year that I was going to miss going to physical therapy, I would’ve called you crazy. After spending the last year and a half in PT and just finishing a month ago, I can honestly say I do. I highly recommend Zenith to anyone suffering from any kind of issue. You won’t regret it!
