At 83, I’m walking and active thanks to PT

Mike is the best! While gardening last summer I overextended some muscles resulting in an inability to walk. I could barely walk from one room to another in my home. I could not garden or swim laps weekly. Within six weeks Mike had me walking again. With regular bi-monthly appointments I continued improving as all the leg and hip muscles were being addressed. Now, I am on a monthly maintenance program. I can walk as far as I would like, usually 1 1/2 to 2 miles several times per week interspersed with exercise sessions in the pool. I can do laps, but at this point I find specific pool exercises more helpful. I can use the gym equipment including free weights. And I have a lot of really good exercises from Mike to help me for the rest of my life be stronger and healthier. Mike has given me all kinds of strengthening exercises to help my whole body be stronger. I am very grateful for his knowledge and careful treatment of my various physical challenges. At eighty-three years old I am looking forward to many more active years. :) Thank you, Mike.

Hiking is back on my calendar—maybe even running

I have been working with Mike since October. I can't say enough good things about him and my experience with Zenith. Mike helped me understand my situation with the issue I was having with my hip and some issues I may face down the road. Then we attract the issue with some targeted exercises and stretching. Mike is super encouraging and patient. He motivated me to be faithful to the things he was assigning me. All that has made a world of difference in how I was feeling when I first came it. I may still need a hip replacement sometime in a few years but for now hiking is still on my calendar and maybe even running.

My only regret is not going to Zenith sooner

I experienced a ground lever fall while rollerblading and ended up with a herniated disc in my lumbar spine, whiplash, cervical strain, and a concussion. I was off work (full time PT) for 6 weeks - lifting even a pot/pan caused severe pain and headaches. I was devastated because I had to wait weeks before I could get an appointment to an outpatient clinic - eventually my insurance didn’t cover it so ended up having to cancel my appointments and try another clinic. In the meantime, I used my own expertise to help myself but I could only treat myself so much and needed hands-on manual therapy for my cervical spine. I knew I needed a PT who is knowledgeable with manual therapy. I tried an outpatient clinic in my network but I wasn’t impressed with their manual therapy skills and ability to get me back to higher level activities pain-free. I decided that my health and physical well being is worth the investment and I was tired of the insurance policies and headache. So I reached out to Mike. Best decision ever. Mike did a thorough evaluation and assessment and set goals that were reasonable and patient/client centered. He did not deter from doing manual therapy as needed for my spinal column to help my muscles and soft tissue heal. I felt relief in my first visit with him (it had been 3 months since my injury at this point and I still wasn’t doing most of my activities). Every visit he made sure to check in to see what worked and what didn’t work - it was focused on my goals and not a formality to please the insurance folk or making sure to bill the right codes. The home exercise program was catered to my needs. Fast forward I am now back to running, rollerblading, playing piano/guitar/violin, strength training, skiing, and hiking with better stability and mobility - I can also lift my kiddos without pain or significant muscle/joint tension! Each and every visit was focused towards my healing and I know he truly cared for me to return to my life. Coming from a physical therapist who is very unimpressed with our medical system and insurance policies, my only regret is that I didn’t go to him sooner. If you’re looking to a PT who is invested in you, thorough, professional, and willing to invest in yourself, this is the place to go! They don’t waste any time here.

PT helped me avoid surgery and rebuild safely

Mike was fantastic. I came in with a meniscal tear with no great surgical solutions. I hadn't run for several months and was worried that my running days might be behind me. But after 6 months or so, I've built back to being almost where I was before. There was no rush and no pressure on my rehab. Just a steady progression that pushed me forward.

This is the only place you need for PT and training

This is the best and only place you need to go for quality physical therapy and personal training. They finally get to the root cause of issues and fix everything impacting your current injury. No longer do you have to just accept the limitations of injuries or work around them, but instead can find a real path towards recovery and get to feel healthy again. And they are great for helping up learn how hard to push yourself, and when, as you correct the smaller movements or muscle imbalances that you go to this place in the first place.

Zenith has an awesome culture and great care

Mariel was the best PT I could’ve asked for. Incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful, and chill. She is great at explaining her process—It was very helpful for me to understand the ‘why’ behind each exercise. Life gets busy and hectic for me at times, and Mariel was so understanding and flexible. Zenith is a great facility and an awesome culture. Highly recommend.
