Greenwaters Park

Greenwaters Park sits on the Willamette River in Oakridge, offering riverside paths, shady loops, and access to the Salmon Creek Trail. With restrooms, parking, and picnic areas, it’s a perfect hub for trail runs, easy spins, or long link-ups into the Oakridge system.

Greenwaters Park is Oakridge’s community hub, sitting along the Middle Fork Willamette River just off Highway 58. More than a park, it serves as a gateway to the region’s world-class trails, with shady riverside paths, picnic areas, and direct connections to longer routes like the Salmon Creek Trail. For runners, walkers, and families, Greenwaters is both a place to relax and a launch point for bigger adventures.

The park itself features flat, wide paths that loop around grassy lawns, forest patches, and interpretive signs highlighting the area’s logging history. It’s a convenient spot for an easy jog or recovery run, and its location makes it a natural meeting point for group outings. Just beyond the park boundary, the Salmon Creek Trail begins—a scenic singletrack that winds for miles along the river, offering smooth tread and a gentle grade perfect for longer efforts.

Facilities include a large parking lot, restrooms, a covered pavilion, and open fields that host local events. On weekends it can be lively, but head onto the trail and the atmosphere quickly shifts to quiet forest and flowing water. For visiting runners or locals looking for a reliable training base, Greenwaters Park is Oakridge’s trailhead heartbeat, seamlessly blending community space with natural access.
