About High Ankle Sprain
High ankle sprains are slower to heal than typical lateral ankle sprains and often limit sprinting and cutting. Physical therapy rebuilds ankle strength, restores mobility, and progresses return-to-sport based on function, not just time. The goal is full-speed play without lingering ankle instability.
Expected Recovery Window
Grade 1: 3–8 weeks. Grade 2: 8–12 weeks. Severe: 12–16+ weeks.
Related Symptoms with High Ankle Sprain

How We Treat High Ankle Sprain
We protect healing tissues early, restore ankle and lower-leg mobility, then rebuild strength and balance. Return-to-sport includes cutting, sprinting, and contact preparation based on strength and movement benchmarks.
