"I've had massage therapy at spas before, but this is different. Zenith really understands the therapeutic side and works with my PT to address specific issues. My recovery has been so much faster because of it."

This Isn't a Spa Service With a Different Name
Sports massage is assessment-driven bodywork. It combines firm pressure, active and assisted stretching, and movement-specific technique to address what your training actually does to your body — not just where it hurts loudest today.
At Zenith, every session starts with a quick intake: how you are feeling, what you're training for, where you've been stuck, what your schedule looks like in the next 72 hours. From there your therapist builds the session around what your tissue and your training block actually need — not a fixed routine.
What sets this apart from a standard deep tissue session elsewhere: your therapist is making clinical decisions throughout. If trigger point work needs to come before deep tissue to let the tissue release, that's what happens. If a hip restriction is driving the calf tightness you came in for, we address the hip.

Built for Eugene's Active Community
Runners and trail runners
Volume management, post-long-run recovery, and the calf and hamstring tension that compounds across a training block. We run Pre's Trail. We pace ultras. Your therapist knows what a 30+-mile week does to your legs because they do those miles too.

Cyclists
Hip flexor tightness, upper back tension from hours in the aero position, quad overload — the bike makes specific demands, and your massage should account for them. Often most useful when paired with a PT bike fit for a full mechanical-and-tissue approach.
Aging athletes and active adults
Staying consistent at 45, 55, or 65 requires a different strategy than it did at 30. Tightness that used to resolve in a day now takes a week. We build sessions around maintaining the mobility that lets you keep training — not just chasing each flare-up.
Anyone deep in a training block
Strength athletes, hikers, swimmers, and weekend warriors who need their body to keep up with their training schedule, not fight it.
Common Reasons People Come In
Massage at Zenith is frequently part of the plan for:
By body region:
-
Legs - calf and hamstring tightness, especially in runners managing volume
-
Hip and low back tension - often tied to running mechanics or long hours in the saddle
-
Upper back and shoulder tightness - common in cyclists and desk workers
-
Knee tension and IT band tightness - frequently responds to massage before or alongside PT
By condition:
-
Muscle knots and trigger points - tight, irritable spots that refer pain and restrict movement. Massage and PT both treat this; the right starting point depends on severity and duration.
-
Hamstring strain recovery — massage supports tissue quality during the rehab phase
-
Low back pain — massage addresses the muscular component; PT addresses the movement pattern underneath
Who You're Working With
A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner with a deep understanding of how the body moves under load. Raymond brings a calm, methodical approach to deep, therapeutic work — firm where it needs to be, patient with tissue that needs time. A strong fit for athletes who want honest, effective bodywork without performance anxiety. Utilizes hot stone therapy as needed.
One of six certified Master Myoskeletal Therapists in Oregon — a credential earned through 210+ hours of advanced training in biomechanics, structural alignment, and soft-tissue technique under Erik Dalton. Jesse's sessions are assessment-driven and deliberately precise: he's looking at how your body moves, not just where it hurts. A strong fit for clients with recurring or complex pain, structural issues, or anyone who's been through multiple massage providers without lasting results.

Serving Eugene, Springfield & the Willamette Valley
Most of our massage clients come from Eugene and Springfield, but we regularly see clients from Junction City, Coburg, Veneta, Pleasant Hill, and even the coast — especially around big race weekends like the Eugene Marathon. If you trained on Pre's Trail, through Alton Baker Park, or anywhere on the Ridgeline Trail System, you're about 10 minutes from TrackTown USA and Zenith.
